Lower Primary
In Lower Primary, students build upon their foundational knowledge, fostering curiosity, creativity, and a sense of wonder. Explore our comprehensive Lower Primary curriculum.
Typically starting at 5 years and ending at 11 years our primary curriculum is based on the United Kingdom primary educational program and adapts it to suit international standards. Our primary education centers a safe and supportive learning environment that prepares students to be curious critical thinkers with strong academic ability that allows them to seamlessly transition to higher grades.
Our primary program focuses on 10 subject areas:
- Science
- Mathematics
- English
- Art and Design
- PSHE ( Personal, Social, Health and Economic)
- C.T
- Global Perspectives (Geography, Religious Studies, History)
- Music
- P.E
- French
Each Lower Primary class has a daily focus of literacy and numeracy with the other subjects alternated during the week. All subjects are taught by class teachers while French, ICT, Music and P.E are taught by specialists. This helps support consistency and allows class teachers to recognise diverse learning styles and accommodate students when and where necessary.
Our Lower Primary learners (Year 1-3) are not assessed through examinations but rather at the end of each unit via the IEP (Individual Education Plan) which consists of targets set for each learner in a year group.
These targets cover the areas of Numeracy, Literacy, Science, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical development and I.C.T.
We also utilise other forms of in house assessment tools to track our students progress, understanding of concepts while making adjustments and providing interventions if needed
upper Primary
Upper Primary is where critical thinking and independence thrive. Learn how our engaging program prepares students to tackle more complex subjects and challenges.
Upper Primary learners are taught by specialist subject teachers who are well trained and extremely passionate about their various areas of study. Each class is also assigned a Class Tutor whose role is to monitor, supervise and guide the daily activities of each student.
Our teachers adopt various strategies to deliver lessons and keep students engaged including hands-on projects, games, outdoor learning, science investigations, research, analysis and group discussions.
Our Upper Primary (Year 4-6) learners write end of unit, midterm, and end of term examinations. We also utilize other forms of in house assessment tools to track our students progress, understanding of concepts while making adjustments and providing interventions if needed.
