Spanning nursery to kindergarten, our Preschool runs the United Kingdom’s Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. The curriculum zones in on 3 prime areas and 4 specific areas.

The three prime areas include:

• Personal, Social, and Emotional Development: We focus on nurturing essential life skills, encouraging emotional growth, and fostering positive relationships among our young learners.
• Communication and Language: Our curriculum emphasises language development, communication abilities, and effective interaction with peers and adults.
• Physical Development: We prioritise physical well-being, motor skills enhancement, and an active approach to learning.

The four specific Areas include:

• Literacy: We introduce foundational reading and writing skills to spark a love for language and storytelling.
• Numeracy: Numeracy is made engaging and accessible, encouraging numerical understanding and problem-solving.
• Understanding the World: We cultivate curiosity about the environment, people, and cultures, promoting a global perspective.
• Expressive Art and Design: Creativity flourishes as children explore various forms of artistic expression.

Recognising that play is a child’s natural way of exploring and understanding the world, our curriculum encourages it by using various materials including building blocks and shape sorting toys that help develop critical social, cognitive and emotional skills.

At SIA, each child leaves our preschool program with the confidence and skills needed for future success. Our learners are assessed at the end of an academic term using IEP (Individual Education Plan).

IEP sets targets for each learner in a year group. These targets cover Numeracy, Literacy, Science, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical development, Cognitive and Motor skills Development.
