Job Summary: We are looking for a passionate and experienced IT and Computer Science Teacher/Coordinator to join our team. In this dual role, you will teach IT and Computer Science to Secondary and A-Level students while also overseeing the integration of technology across the school’s curriculum. You will play a key role in shaping the school’s IT strategy, ensuring that our students and staff have access to the best technological resources and practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Educational Background:
    1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    2. A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  1. Experience:
  1. At least 3 years of teaching IT and Computer Science at secondary and A-Level, ideally within the Cambridge Assessment International Education framework.
  2. Prior leadership or coordination experience, demonstrating successful implementation of IT strategies in schools.

 

  1. Technical Skills:
  1. Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and software development.
  2. Strong knowledge of hardware, networking, and cybersecurity principles.
  3. Experience with educational technologies, e-learning platforms, and IT infrastructure management.
  1. The candidate should have hands-on experience incorporating AI technologies like chatbots, text generators, or image creation tools into teaching methods, curriculum design, or other aspects of education.
  1. Personal Qualities:
  1. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  2. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership.
  3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  4. A passion for technology and innovation in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching:
    1. Deliver engaging and effective lessons in IT and Computer Science to Secondary and A-Level students.
    2. Design and implement lesson plans and assessments aligned with the Cambridge International Education, focusing on critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills.
    3. Regularly assess and provide constructive feedback on students’ performance to support their academic growth.
  1. Coordination:
    1. Develop and oversee the implementation of the school’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with educational goals.
    2. Coordinate the integration of technology across all subjects and year levels to enhance teaching and learning.
    3. Provide training and support to staff in the effective use of educational technology tools.
    4. Manage the IT department, including budgeting, resource allocation, and staff development.
  2. Curriculum 3. Development:
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the IT and Computer Science curriculum and co-curricular programs.
  4. Ensure that the curriculum remains up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and educational trends.
  5. Technology Management:
    1. Oversee the maintenance and upgrading of the school’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
    2. Work closely with the school’s leadership to implement and monitor cybersecurity policies and practices.
  6. Professional Development:
  7. Stay current with advancements in IT and Computer Science education and coordinate professional development opportunities for staff.
  8. Extra-curricular Activities/ Curriculum Enrichment Programmes (CEP):
    1. Lead or support IT-related clubs, competitions, and events to enrich students’ learning experiences and foster a passion for technology.
