Job Summary: We are looking for a passionate and experienced IT and Computer Science Teacher/Coordinator to join our team. In this dual role, you will teach IT and Computer Science to Secondary and A-Level students while also overseeing the integration of technology across the school’s curriculum. You will play a key role in shaping the school’s IT strategy, ensuring that our students and staff have access to the best technological resources and practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of teaching IT and Computer Science at secondary and A-Level, ideally within the Cambridge Assessment International Education framework.
- Prior leadership or coordination experience, demonstrating successful implementation of IT strategies in schools.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and software development.
- Strong knowledge of hardware, networking, and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with educational technologies, e-learning platforms, and IT infrastructure management.
- The candidate should have hands-on experience incorporating AI technologies like chatbots, text generators, or image creation tools into teaching methods, curriculum design, or other aspects of education.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- A passion for technology and innovation in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in IT and Computer Science to Secondary and A-Level students.
- Design and implement lesson plans and assessments aligned with the Cambridge International Education, focusing on critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Regularly assess and provide constructive feedback on students’ performance to support their academic growth.
- Coordination:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the school’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with educational goals.
- Coordinate the integration of technology across all subjects and year levels to enhance teaching and learning.
- Provide training and support to staff in the effective use of educational technology tools.
- Manage the IT department, including budgeting, resource allocation, and staff development.
- Curriculum 3. Development:
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the IT and Computer Science curriculum and co-curricular programs.
- Ensure that the curriculum remains up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and educational trends.
- Technology Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and upgrading of the school’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
- Work closely with the school’s leadership to implement and monitor cybersecurity policies and practices.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in IT and Computer Science education and coordinate professional development opportunities for staff.
- Extra-curricular Activities/ Curriculum Enrichment Programmes (CEP):
- Lead or support IT-related clubs, competitions, and events to enrich students’ learning experiences and foster a passion for technology.
