Physics Teacher Job Description

Role Summary:

The Physics Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction in Physics, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of the subject and achieve excellent results at both O and A Levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach Physics to students at IGCSE and Advanced Level, following the Cambridge International Curriculum.

1. Design, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
2. Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
3. Use innovative teaching strategies, including technology, to enhance learning.
4. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning experience across science subjects.
5. Prepare students for external examinations, ensuring they achieve outstanding results.
6. Participate in extracurricular science activities and events to foster a love for Physics among students.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in physics or a related field.
2. Demonstrated experience teaching Physics at O and A Levels (Cambridge International Curriculum preferred).
3. Strong knowledge of Physics concepts and the ability to explain them effectively to students.
4. Passion for teaching and commitment to student success.
5. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
6. Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods, including EdTech and AI, into the classroom.

Mathematics & Science Coordinator Job Description

Role Summary:

The Mathematics & Science Coordinator will lead and support the Mathematics and Science departments, playing a pivotal role in curriculum development, teacher support, and promoting a culture of academic excellence at Savannah International Academy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development and Implementation:
2. Collaborate with teachers to develop a robust, up-to-date curriculum for Mathematics and Science.
3. Ensure alignment with Cambridge International standards and best practices in teaching and learning.
4. Oversee the selection and review of textbooks and instructional materials.

Teaching and Learning Excellence:

1. Support teachers in content delivery, classroom management, and assessment strategies.
2. Promote the use of innovative and technology-based teaching aids.
3. Work closely with teachers to enhance teaching strategies across Mathematics and Science subjects.

Student Progress and Achievement:

1. Monitor and analyze student performance data to address areas of concern.
2. Develop strategies to improve student achievement and provide additional support where needed.
3. Collaborate with teachers to support struggling students.

Professional Development:

1. Identify and coordinate professional development opportunities for Mathematics and Science teachers.
2. Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
3. Encourage teachers to pursue ongoing professional growth.

Resource Management:

1. Ensure that the Mathematics and Science departments are adequately resourced to support effective teaching and learning.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, or a relevant field.

Experience teaching

2. Mathematics and Science subjects, with a focus on Cambridge International Curriculum.
3. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
4. Passion for promoting academic excellence and student success.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, administration, and stakeholders.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and educational technology, including AI integration.
7. Experience in teaching Cambridge Advanced Level Mathematics is a plus.
