Eligibility and Selection Criteria

In order to be eligible for the SIA Trust Scholarship, applicants must prove to:

  • Be Ghanaian citizens resident in Ghana;
  • Have completed Primary 6 or JHS 1 with demonstrated academic success;
  • Not be above 18 years of age;
  • Be from an underserved and underrepresented segment of the population;
  • Be able to prove financial difficulties through scholarship application documents and due diligence process;
  • Females and students from the three Northern regions are especially encouraged to apply.

In making their decision, the Board of Trustees consider the following qualities as well:

  • Goal oriented and a high achiever;
  • Showing diligence and a sense of commitment;
  • Responsible, determined, persevering, socially aware;
  • Confident, a good public speaker, with good writing, performing arts, or visual arts skills;
  • Desiring to become an agent of positive change in his/her community.

The Application Process

Scholarship application forms for the SIA Trust Scholarships can be downloaded here or obtained from the school’s office. Completed forms can be scanned and mailed electronically to Alternatively, hard copies of the scholarship application forms can be delivered to the School’s office located at Plot No. 77, Choggo Block 6 opposite Christian Children’s Fund of Canada, Tamale.

Completed scholarship applications consist of:

  • Completed and signed application form;
  • Student passport photo;
  • Photocopy of last 3 terms reports;
  • Photocopy of evidence of Ghanaian citizenship (Birth certificate, health insurance ID, passport ID, etc.);
  • Evidence of income of parent/guardian;
  • Typed essays;
  • Details of two recent tutors to be contacted for reference.

Submission of completed scholarship application forms should be received no later than the deadline communicated.
