Savannah International Academy (SIA) located in Tamale, in Northern Ghana, is a coeducational institution of international standard, offering the international curriculum – IGCSE & A Levels. SIA is currently a day school but will soon become the only international boarding school in the north with a unique mission to not only become a centre of academic excellence but to provide purposeful education that will shape and grow future leaders.
The concept of SIA was borne from the recognition of the current educational gap between the northern regions of Ghana (Upper West, Upper East and Northern Regions) and the southern part of the country. Primarily established as an attempt to bridge the glaring gap between the standard of educational provision in the north and south, SIA is an important driver of the development agenda for the northern part of Ghana and the country as a whole.
To be a centre of academic excellence that provides relevant education in order to develop global citizens who are mindful of their responsibility to Self and Society.
Service (S)– identifying with the needs of the community and providing opportunities to meet and serve those needs.
Integrity (I) – to act truthfully and honestly at all times in any given situation and circumstance.
Respect (R) – respect for diversity.
SIA aims to foster unity, community service and high academic standards while encouraging students to become competent and responsible global citizens. Students’ intellectual, cultural, ethical and moral growth and development will be encouraged and enhanced through sports, art and other creative activities.
